I planted these snow peas in April, 2011. They were up in May, 2011 and then have been slowly getting into production mode.
I mentioned previously that I had planted these snow peas in the wrong place. They should have been planted in this bed (see the real pea bed being prepared). Just recently I spent a few hours sorting out my rotation plan. I'm glad I did. It is reasonably complicated and I must have lost track at some stage. Not that it matters. This bed where the snow peas are growing is to become a compost bed. So, I'll build a compost pile on the half the bed that isn't covered in snow peas, and then, when the peas are finished, I'll pull out the frame and let the whole bed go to compost. Doesn't the wattle look nice at the back of the garden?
Little baby snow pea. Hurry up and grow into a sweet, crunchy pea pod. We are tired of cabbages and leeks and want to eat some spring vegetables.
